Fix Computer List tick crash

Fix NullReferenceException when ticking rows or the header checkbox in Teacher Console Computer List. Header select-all sync is deferred off the native ItemChecked callback; Tick all / Untick paths stay null-safe.

Also Stream reconnect storm and Debug Log copy

Teacher Console: debounce Also Stream online/offline so brief WS flaps no longer thrash Live Thumbnail borders or spam Debug Log; coalesce ScreenStreamer reconnects; prefer /wsp over :9443; Debug Log tab adds Copy log to clipboard (charcoal/yellow).

Full Control input on Winlogon and desktop

Full Control clicks and keyboard inject via SendInput on the interactive desktop. On Windows OS lock, ClassroomMonitorUpdate attaches WinSta0 and uses SendInput on Winlogon (real SendSAS for CAD). Teachers get clear status if the helper is missing instead of a silent cursor-only overlay. Less lock-screen vs black placeholder flicker.

Live Thumbnails enter warn on desktop

Desktop Teacher Console now shows the Live Thumbnails enter warning (charcoal/yellow Cancel/Enter), matching web. Root cause: MessageBox inside TabControl.Selecting often never painted even though the string shipped since 1.5.8.83.

Fix Tick all on Computer List

Tick all and Untick now select all machines visible in Computer List (and Live Thumbnails filter view). Status bar shows correct N/M in view while Computer List is the active tab. Root cause: WinForms Control.Visible was false for thumbnail tiles under the hidden Live Thumbnails tab.

Winlogon Full Control CAD

Full Control Override no longer dead-ends on Windows OS lock. CAD uses ClassroomMonitorUpdate SendSAS for sign-in UI. Unlock clears Classroom Monitor overlays only (cannot clear Winlogon). Secure-desktop capture/input via SYSTEM helper when Setup registered it.

Remote Session frames for Also Stream

Fix: Live Thumbnails preview worked but Remote Session stayed black for Also Stream this-PC tiles. Remote Session now loopbacks local Also Stream frames, seeds from the thumbnail, and FramePump fans out to open viewers. Local preview without Also Stream is blocked. Student tiles show Waiting for stream until frames arrive.

Teacher Console freeze fix

Fix groups sidebar blink and Not Responding hang during Live Thumbnails with Also Stream: coalesce frames, skip unchanged overlay_state tree sync, debounce count labels, harden RebuildTree expand state.

Capture exclusion for viewing banner

Exclude viewing and consent chrome from teacher captures (WDA_EXCLUDEFROMCAPTURE) so the viewing banner stays on the student PC only. Softer top-right viewing banner. Web thumbnail header clock (HH:mm | dd/mm/yyyy) is already live. Keeps 1.5.8.83 unlock and overlay_state behavior.

Overlay lock state and web stream stability

Student frames publish overlay_state so Screens Locked counts update on web and desktop. Unlock and Restore clear overlay state. Site hub -wsfix9 skips idle frame encode so teacher WebSocket stays Connected on /console.

Update UAC elevation fix

Fix in-app updates so UAC appears on the UI thread when the update service is missing. Warn when remote Full Control hides Secure Desktop. Prefer one-time admin Setup for silent updates via the Classroom Monitor Update service.

Unlock and Restore tick targeting

Teacher Console Unlock Screens and Restore Screen now always send to ticked students even when a tile is missing from the Live Thumbnails image cache (fixes silent skips such as FER404653). Clearer unlock feedback distinguishes classroom overlay unlock from Windows OS lock. Student client matches unlock/restore/lock/blank command ids case-insensitively. Site WebSocket connect timeout improvements remain on the live -wsfix6 stack.

Tick selection matches Live Thumbnails

Update/Downgrade and other bulk Admin actions now target only machines with a visible tick. Disconnect no longer leaves ghost ticks; status bar count matches checkboxes (web parity).

Versions tab and sortable Computer List

Added a Versions bottom tab (installed vs latest tip) on web and desktop. Computer List and Versions columns sort on header click with indicators; Last connected sorts oldest to newest. Also includes Layout/Thumbnails UI cleanup and desktop Tick all / Untick.

Console UI cleanup: views and Tick all

Removed duplicate Layout view switches and the header Thumbnails button. Desktop Computer List adds Tick all / Untick and a header select-all checkbox. Bottom Live Thumbnails tab is the only thumbnail switch (web and desktop).

Remember group sections and window layout

Teacher Console persists Pin / Personal / My / Built In expand state plus window size/position and sidebar width. First run still opens all four sections expanded. Web /console group sections remember open/closed in localStorage.

Update / Downgrade and MSI auto-update

Admin Update / Downgrade installs any published newer or older version (Setup or MSI matching install type). Tip auto-update prefers MSI when the machine was MSI-installed. Durable latest download URLs, local winget manifests, and historical MSI backfill for older tip folders.

License survives upgrade; Server Setup changelog links

Teacher/Server license key is preserved across Setup EXE and MSI upgrades (HKLM machine mirror, no blank Save wipe, MSI no longer clears AppData mid-upgrade). After update the Console re-hydrates and soft-pings so Unlimited/limits return instead of a false Inactive license. Server Setup Automatic Updates adds Full changelog and Version downloads links.

MSI installer published alongside Setup EXE

Classroom Monitor tip now ships a real MSI (ClassroomMonitor-Setup-v1.5.8.73.msi) next to the Setup EXE for admins who want MSI Software Installation or Intune MSI. Force Update and auto-update still prefer the Setup EXE (setup_url). GPO can keep using one Setup EXE; MSI is optional. Universal Student/Teacher/Server via INSTALLATION_TYPE.

License status bar Unlimited restore

Teacher Console and web /console status bar again show Unlimited for Console limit (teacher seats), Workstation limit (student machines), and License expiry when owner or Enterprise entitlements say so, instead of stuck Basic placeholders 10/100 and expiry n/a. Real Basic plans still show 10/100. msi_url empty.

Computer List right-click context menu

Teacher Console Computer List right-click opens a context menu: Open remote (same as double-click Remote Session), Copy submenu for Computer name / User / Status / Last connected / IP (full cell including ipv4 | ipv6), Copy all row as text, Tick / Untick machine, and User details. Right-click selects the row under the cursor. Web /console Computer List has the same menu. Double-click open from 1.5.8.68 is unchanged. msi_url empty.

Computer List IP column

Computer List shows preferred LAN IPv4 and IPv6 (format: 10.x.x.x | ipv6). Clients report IPs on auth, heartbeat, and WebSocket; Teacher Console and web roster bind them. Heartbeat refreshes IP when it changes. msi_url empty.

Clear viewing banner on teacher disconnect

When a teacher disconnects, students clear the viewing banner (and end remote control if active). Safety net clears a stale banner after about 5 minutes without network keepalive. Server Setup adds Stale viewing clear (seconds). msi_url empty.

Full Control consent, Fit view, banner auto-hide

Server settings for Full Control student consent (default auto deny), viewing banner display seconds, and re-notify while still watching. Remote Session defaults to Fit (aspect-correct). Computer List double-click opens Remote Session (desktop and web). msi_url empty.

Remote Session quality and view notify clear

Full Control / Remote Session use higher JPEG quality and up to 1920x1080 so text stays readable. Leaving Live Thumbnails clears viewer notifications for thumbnail-watched machines; open Remote Sessions keep their banner until closed. msi_url empty.

Teacher Console header and footer chrome

Removed .NET version chip from the Teacher Console header. Connected to Server status moved into the footer cluster with version and limits. msi_url empty.

UX: notify, Computer List default, markdown contact

Opening Live Thumbnails notifies the active group (per-group toggle). Default view is Computer List; Pin / Personal / My / Built In start expanded. /settings redirects to account overview. Contact and desktop Send Feedback use Subject dropdown plus markdown toolbar. msi_url empty.

Teacher Console X closes to tray once

Window X minimizes to tray without auto-reopening. File and tray Exit still use the exit gate. msi_url empty.

Policy Edit time: full hour is 60 minutes

Advanced Policy Edit time treats To as exclusive end so a full hour is From HH:00 to HH+1:00 (Length 60). Length and 5-minute presets stay in sync on desktop and web. Does not overwrite tip 1.5.8.62. msi_url empty.

Ribbon customize, collapse, no needless scrollbars

Ribbon command strip no longer reserves a permanent scrollbar. Customize ribbon (reorder, show/hide, Default). Double-click a category to collapse or expand the sub-ribbon. Status-bar Help! removed; Support ribbon kept. Web /console matched. msi_url empty.

Policy Edit time hour UX

Same Edit time exclusive-To / 60-minute hour fix as later refined in 1.5.8.63. Published after 1.5.8.59; ribbon work used 1.5.8.62. msi_url empty.

Thumbnail dedupe and Room Layout labels

Live Thumbnails dedupe same-host Also Stream vs presence-only tiles. Room Layout tiles use friendly hostname/user labels instead of raw CM_ ClientIds. msi_url empty.

Sticky lock and blank cleared on unlock

Unlock Screens and Restore Screen clear persisted lock/blank state so reboot or reconnect does not re-apply overlays unless a live schedule requires it. Web ribbon sends restore_screen. msi_url empty.

Teacher admin exit UAC (real Setup)

Elevated exit via ClassroomMonitor.exe --elevated-exit with UAC. Tip 1.5.8.56 Setup had matched 1.5.8.55; this build ships a distinct Setup hash. Cancel shows a clear retry message. msi_url empty.

Teacher exit UAC (superseded Setup)

Intended Teacher admin exit UAC tip. Live Setup for this folder matched 1.5.8.55; use 1.5.8.57 for the corrected Setup. Portable/exe under this folder already had elevated-exit work. msi_url empty.

UAC cancel retry without re-download

Cancelling UAC on update keeps the downloaded Setup and lets Install / Check for updates retry without re-downloading when the tip hash still matches. msi_url empty.

Remote cursor and Unlimited status bar

Full Control shows a visible remote cursor overlay (desktop and web). Status bar shows Unlimited for unlimited console/workstation limits and license expiry. msi_url empty.

Remote Session top toolbar

Common remote tools promoted to the top charcoal/yellow strip with tooltips (desktop and web). Overflow More opens the full tools panel. Floating bottom Tools strip hidden on web. msi_url empty.

Live Thumbnails roster and presence placeholders

Also Stream local tile stays on brief disconnect and restores on reconnect so roster counts match the web console. Presence-only Teacher peers show labeled placeholders instead of silent black tiles. msi_url empty.

Teacher Console chrome minimize

Desktop Minimize/Expand top bar is its own control left of Refresh. Web /console gains desktop-parity chrome (menus, ribbon, status bar, groups tree) without overlapping action buttons. msi_url empty.

Web Teacher Console license follows subscription

Web /console status bar no longer shows Inactive license when the signed-in account has Enterprise (or another paid plan), an owner-assigned plan, or a resolvable site/subscription/tenant Server key. Stale subscription_period_end no longer greys the web console for those accounts. Status bar version uses version-info.json tip (1.5.8.49). Desktop LicensePingService unchanged.

Group tree theme and minimize top bar

Left group tree uses charcoal owner-draw colors (no white slab after license unlock). Minimize top bar on desktop and web. Preference stored in console-chrome.json / localStorage. msi_url empty.

Server license activate, sign-in, and Owner entitlements

Switch to Server and Server Setup Licence open an Activate dialog (key field, Plans link, Cancel) instead of a dead-end OK box. Sign in with a tenant/site admin account to fetch the Server license automatically. Admin Tenants, Subscriptions, and Sites show Copy / Regenerate keys. Website Owner can set unlimited or capped students, console and workstation limits, and included modules; /api/license/status.php returns those values to the desktop status bar and Licence tab. Precedence: site key, then subscription key, then tenant key. Docs App functions page updated. msi_url empty.

Inactive license lockout and in-place role switch

Inactive school plan greys the Teacher/Server ribbon and blocks remote commands. File menu (and tray) switches Student / Teacher / Server without reinstalling Setup. Leaving Student requires a Teacher PIN or an exit code / remote grant. msi_url empty.

Live Thumbnails tick centering

Selection ticks on Live Thumbnails stay clearly visible and centered on the checkbox. Builds on high-contrast tick work. msi_url empty.

Server Setup and daily license ping

Force Update LocalSystem helper and GPO one-file Setup

Force Update prefers silent Setup installs via elevated helper when present. Enterprise deployment docs cover one Setup EXE for GPO Startup and Intune (msi_url stays empty).

Force Update remote tool

Teachers can push the latest client from Remote Control Tools (web System Info and desktop System Info / Admin ribbon). Command force_update (alias install_update) fetches version-info.json, installs the current Setup URL only, skips when already latest, and rate-limits retries. Coordinated with remote-session work on the same 1.5.8.21 channel.

Web thumbnails show Also Stream PCs

Teacher Also Stream (self-management) registers as a live role=client streamer. The web Teacher Console merges WebSocket live clients into /console thumbnails so the streaming PC appears, not only the local desktop preview. Installer no longer resets AlsoStream on upgrade. Upgrade desktop to 1.5.8.1, enable Also Stream, restart, then refresh the web console.

Remote tools routing, self-stream, Block Apps

Teacher Console no longer sends remote commands to the local preview tile when no Student streamer is online. Settings add Allow self-management (Also Stream) and Administrators can monitor Teachers. Block Apps can load machine apps, edit rows, and persist blocks on the target. WebSocket server sends client_list and machine names; presence heartbeat returns peer Teachers for the console list.

Teacher Console shell refresh and quieter auto-update

Teacher Console gains a ribbon, group tree, yellow charcoal theme, and bottom view tabs (Computer List, Live Thumbnails, Room Layout). Universal installer supports Student, Teacher, and Server roles. Auto-update preserves your existing role and installs quietly after confirmation, then relaunches the app. Release notes no longer use third-party product names.

Teacher Console shell, universal installer, license status API

Desktop Teacher Console gains a ribbon, group tree, yellow charcoal theme, and bottom view tabs (Computer List, Live Thumbnails, Room Layout). One universal installer supports Student, Teacher, and Server roles (interactive picker plus silent INSTALLATION_TYPE). Runtime starts streamer and/or console by role. New API /api/license/status.php returns plan and module entitlements for Server license gating. Password reset emails use clearer branded HTML with a high-contrast Reset button.

Dark UI, profile management, and docs refresh

Unified dark NT console theme across login, register, forgot-password, docs, and changelog. Footer again spans the full content column beside the sidebar. Profile overview supports avatar presets, editable username/email, and plan/add-on changes with end-of-paid-month notices. Pretty profile URLs (/user/{id}/overview|security|activity). Activity history contrast fixed; users can no longer clear their own activity. Cart and WebSocket stability improvements from the 1.5.4.x line are included.

Activity clear disabled for users

Removed the Clear activity control from the profile Activity tab. The clear-user-activity API now rejects non-admin requests so users cannot wipe their own history.

Profile presets, subscriptions, and pretty URLs

Free avatar preset cards (no upload required). Users can upgrade or downgrade plans and add or remove modules, with clear notices that downgrades and removals stay active until the end of the paid month. Canonical profile tab URLs without ?tab=. Activity messages and table text use readable light colors on dark cards.

Browser extension 1.1.4: separate Chrome/Edge, Opera, Firefox zips

Fixed invalid zip downloads via /downloads/file (trailing PHP output corrupted the binary). Published separate packages: ClassroomMonitor-Extension-v1.1.4-chrome-edge.zip, -opera.zip (same Chromium MV3 contents), and -firefox.zip. Force Update tip extension_url points at the chrome-edge zip. Do not load Chromium zips in Firefox.
